Where would we be today without "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" anyways?

The composer who composed the song "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." (Hugh Martin) Got a little over halfway through it and then almost threw it away because he couldn't write anymore. He pushed it aside and forgot about it and it almost became a typical throw away project.
Ralph Blane (another composer) the man who was listening in said:
"You were working on something so pretty two days ago, what happened to it?"

So Martin went back and started working on it again and ended up completing more of it.

The song was used in the film "Meet me in st. Louis" with Judy Garland in 1944.

Judy Garland wanted to change the original lyrics because they were pretty dark and mournful and she didn't want to seem like the bad guy singing it to a child in the script.

Martin was going to write something completely different because he did not want to change what he already had.

Another composer shut him down and said if you made the song more immoral, it could be a huge Christmas hit and to trust Judy Garland's instincts because she knows what she's doing.

So I have two take aways from this little history lesson:

1) The next idea could change history. the next idea your friend or peers could have is a potential contribution to society.
We should always encourage each other to finish what we started and encourage each other to follow each other's dreams. Contribute to the pool of positivity instead of shutting each other down all the time.
If Blane had never encouraged Martin to finish the song, it would have never been anything but a throw away.
it wouldn't be a song that people still re-make, buy, and sing over a piano every Christmas season.

2) That great idea will most definitely need feedback and modification. One should always be humble and open to the opinions and ideas of others and they should also be open to feedback and change.

Collaborate instead of clash heads.

How can you be more encouraging and contributing today?

You microorganism you.

What if I told you there was a big circular thang....it has this liquid iron core in the middle of it that creates a magnetic field in the middle from its spinning.
Aligning the solid portion of this circle was these tiny little microorganisms with these rather impressive brains, there were about 6 to 7 billion of them.
These brains spend everyday driving these little pieces of metal to a place where they make money to survive.
These tiny microorganisms hate each other. They do jot have to meet each other to hate each other- instead they hate each other for how they believe they got there and what color or accent each microorganism has.
They kill each other, they chirp nasty hateful things but yet... they are all the same.
So you have 7 billion people who just hate on each other....and for what REAL reason really?

Love is worth, everything we want it to be.

Oh my gosh, she's 22 and dating a 40 year old.

He's 18 and dating a 50 year old.

Like the institute of blended families, polygamy, and gay marriage: these moments are becoming more common.

Yet, they are still vastly socially unacceptable, why is this?

Well, in situations such as gay marriage, up until a few years ago and still in many states: the law stopped this from happening.

Polygamy is facing a similar factor. Both stem from (outrageous or not) religious beliefs. So where does age play into that?

It doesn't.
It gets grouped and stereotyped.

If the male is older, we see this as a predatory situation. Or that the female involved has Daddy issues.

Nobody sees the girl who's attached to a different generation because she feels as if hers is broken. Maybe she doesn't fit into the generation she was born into, and can see the sophistication behind the older male that others her age don't. As for him, he's desperate to hold onto his youth.

Terrible isn't it?
No, it's not your business.

Love is love. Before we are the age we currently are, we all have individual personalities and ideas on life.

It's a beautiful thing. Individuality.

It's like walking into a rose garden and cutting the stems that appeal to you instead of cutting stems of all the same shapes and sizes.

Some people will want round, full sophisticated roses and some will want young, fresh vibrant buds.

As long as both parties completely consent, who are we to judge anyways?

Everybodys talkin bout the new kid in town..people started walkin.

learning to live again, is killing me (to quote the great Garth Brooks)

Smartest decision of my life COULD BE been when i decided to use my gift card my
Mom insisted i used when i go out with my friends on my family. Everyone talked about wanting "all you can eat" shrimp but being broke, i said for the oompteenth time "ive got a gift card, lets just use it!". So we did, I sat down, few minutes later, his steamy dark brown eyes met mine, I grinned and thought "ive seen you before, but suddenly, i feel something stronger this time" We do our thing, take our order. To put some of me in this situation, and my being of the NOTORIOUS P.I.G that I am, finds that a great way to get an attractive man would be pound down 6 orders of all you can eat shrimp, is that a good way to get his positive attention when you eat like a tank?? Anyways, he laughs at my jokes, corney as they may be, he finds them funny, but that look. Ive only gotten that look one other time in my life, and everyone here knows just who that is. This guy, he gave me this look right before he left my table. His dark eyes met my dark eyes, and we both grinned this huge grin. Him with his beautiful teeth, and me and my "spongebobs" ::giggles like Spongebob::. His short dark hair matched his dark brown eyes perfectly, and mostly, his continuing to laugh at my jokes and grin at me around the table. (tee hee hee)
We had 2 moments, where our eyes met eachother in a "special" way, where neither of us could start smiling, then I knew. I know there was something there that he probably felt too.
I sit in awe, this feeling stands familar even tho i wasnt wanting to be anything but feel the freedoms of single-hood. i had Krys, Jennie, Allen, practically alling in a chorus line of "Desperado" by The Eagles (GOOD SONG!) telling me to try, try again in my skeptical-ness, i refused. Suddenly, im feeling geeky. Friends are now tellin me "go back in there! slip him your number on a piece of paper!" (thanks Josh and Jennie for that suggestion), or "ask him what hes doing after work!!!!" (Coco!) and someone tied to my past who ill leave her annonymous because she will want it that way, gladly tell me she is happy for me to find someone.
Of course ive had crushes, people ive found attractive in the last several months, however, no one (but one other person in my entire life) has ever given me THAT look, it wasnt a look of shock and awe at all those shrimped i pigged down ::pig squeal::, it wasnt a look of "please leave me a good tip!" (im not bill payer, but i got the special attention!), and it wasn't the expression of "you just spilled your drink all over the table, dumbass" (its true yes, my mom tried to throw salt in it, child!), it was a look that screamed "I like you, I think" or "im interested" either that, or as usual, im reading to far into things..
So, after eating all that shell-fish-goodness, and dropping a full iced tea across the table soaking all of our napkins 10 minutes into my visit, i still wasnt thrown out of the restaurant, thats the first good sign :) and that is SOOO TYPICAL of my behavior when im around someone I am interested in..
It feels good, going down that road, someone potentially feeling what you are feeling but for now its a mystery in itself. If its a no, "Ryan" and I were not meant to be ::throws that fish in the ocean if that the case:: If it is a yes, I would hope all my girly friends will leave me dear picture comments when i start posting the mushy-snuff all over again and then i can show him my blog :D
Im stepping onto the field, lets hit a home run this time, ill be excited if i dont have to ship "Cuban-sperm" afterall.
